§ Mr. Jim Lester[pursuant to his reply, 4 March 1980, c. 110]: I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that between 1 April 1979 and the end of January 1980, about 25,000 young people entered the youth opportunities programme in the Northern region. There were approximately 5.000 entrants in the Durham county council area.
I regret that it is not possible to give figures which relate exactly to the Bishop Auckland constituency, since statistics on YOP are collected by local authority district. However, the following information refers to the local authority districts which are wholly or in part within the constituency.
