§ Mr. Fosterasked the Secretary of State for Employment, if the Darlington Skillcentre is closed, where he would expect additional training places to be available.
§ Mr. Jim Lester[pursuant to his reply, 5 March 1980, c. 203]: I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that no additional training places will be made available in view of the over-provision of skillcentre places in the North-East. Darlington skillcentre is considerably under-utilised at present and if it is closed there will be adequate spare capacity available at Durham, Billing-ham and Middlesbrough skillcentres to cope with demand from the Darlington area.
