HC Deb 24 June 1980 vol 987 c75W
11. Mr. McQuarrie

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will provide the services of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service to assist in resolving the industrial dispute at the St. Fergus gas terminal, East Aberdeenshire which has resulted in a large number of workers formerly engaged by William Press Limited being without work or benefits.

Mr. Mayhew

I understand that following discussion between the site managing contractor and union representatives a number of workers formerly employed by William Press Limited at St. Fergus have been employed by other contractors on the site. Further talks are due to be held soon. ACAS is continuing to keep in touch with developments.
