§ Mr. McQuadeasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the further training courses attended by Royal Ulster Constabulary officers within Northern Ireland and give the length of the course and the number attending each course.
§ Mr. AlisonThe information is as follows:
tants, PA Management Consultants Ltd. from Belfast and Brady, Shipman, Martin from Dublin formally presented their report on the potential for tourism development and land use through arterial drainage in the Erne catchment area. I was present to receive the report on behalf of the United Kingdom Government and Mr. Lenihan TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs, received the report on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Ireland. The European Community was also represented at the meeting and received copies of the report. The meeting was attended by elected representatives from both sides of the border and by members of interested organisations. The study, which was financed 50 per cent. by the European Community and 25 per cent. each by the United Kingdom and 161W Irish Governments, is presently being considered by both Governments and by the European Community. The recommendations will then be discussed with the monitoring group of local representatives from both sides of the border and such other interested bodies as appropriate.
At this early stage no decisions have been taken or agreement reached on what expenditure will be involved nor on the likely sources of funding, but the latter will include both Governments, the European Community, public and local authorities and the private sector.
My hon. Friend can be assured that full regard will be had for the interests
