Mr. John Carlisle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what financial resources are available to the appeal system for immigrants or visitors refused entry to the United Kingdom.

Provision has been made for total expenditure of £1,084,000 on the immigration appellate authorities in the 1980–81. It is not possible to determine what proportion of this sum will be attributable to selected categories of appellants.
