§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Defence what has been the outcome of his discussions with Hong Kong Ministers about the future of the defence cost agreement; and whether agreement has been reached about the stationing of a fifth battalion permanently in Hong Kong.
§ Mr. HayhoeThere were discussions about the defence costs agreement this week between officials of the Hong Kong Government and the Ministry of Defence. Discussions will be continued in the near future. There has been no decision about additions to the garrison.
