§ Mr. ParkinsonThe British Indian Ocean Territory was not included in the application of the Iran (Trading Sanctions) Order because it has no permanent population or export trade. Almost all the temporary inhabitants on Diego Garcia are military personnel who are subject either to United Kingdom law by virtue of the Naval Discipline Act 1957 or to United States law (under both of which the relevant prohibitions would apply).
