§ Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will make a statement on the response to the proposals he put forward in London on 10 December for the future of building control; and when he proposes to announce firm decisions on this matter.
§ Mr. HeseltineOver 400 individuals, local authorities and other bodies have submitted their views on building control following my speech on 10 December. These contributions have been notably well informed, and reflect general agreement that changes are needed.
I shall be publishing a consultative paper very shortly outlining my proposals for changing and simplifying building control.
