§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider supporting the temporary programme initiated by the North London polytechnic to record the surviving fabric of dockland, to recover industrial and architectural material in imminent danger and to research and record dockland life.
§ Mr. MonroThe Secretary of State has responsibility for issuing lists of buildings of special architectural or historic interest under section 54 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971. Lists have been issued or are being compiled in collaboration with the 673W Greater London Council in respect of the London boroughs of Southwark, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets and New-ham. Other aspects of this programme appear to be of essentially local interest and I understand it has been supported by the GLC and the docklands joint committee among others.
