asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will instruct the Health and Safety Executive that no permission will be given to British Gas to reactivate the liquefied petroleum gas pipeline at Canvey, which is listed as a hazard in its 1978 report, until after the recommendations of the inspector who conducted the recent public inquiry into the totality of risks to the island has been received and studied.

No. The recent public inquiry was concerned with the question of possible revocation of planning permission given to United Refineries Ltd. to construct an oil refinery on Canvey Island.
