§ Mr. Altonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will institute an inquiry into the suicide of Mr. Stephen Anderson at Risley remand centre; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WhitelawThe governor of Risley remand centre will be submitting a report of his investigations into the incident, and I shall study this carefully. An inquest has opened and has been adjourned, and it would be inappropriate for me to make any statement until the coroner's findings have been made known.
