HC Deb 14 July 1980 vol 988 c444W
68. Dame Judith Hart

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the outcome of the meeting of the Caribbean group for co-operation in economic development in Washington.

72. Mr. Dubs

asked the Lord Privy Seal what conclusions were reached about aid to Jamaica by the Caribbean group for co-operation in economic development at its recent meeting in Washington.

Mr. Neil Marten

The meeting examined the economic situation of the Caribbean countries and the prospects for further aid. On Jamaica, donors, including the United Kingdom, took the view that before considering any further aid they would wish to see a medium-term economic programme prepared by the Government of Jamaica which would command international support.
