§ 41. Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with the operation of the law relating to adoption and fostering.
§ Sir George YoungThe hon. Member will know that fundamental changes in adoption law were made in part I of the Children Act 1975 which neither we nor the previous Government have been able to implement in full because resources are not available. In this respect I cannot claim to be satisfied with the operation of the existing law on adoption. I know of no particular problems arising from the operation of the law on fostering.
