HC Deb 22 February 1980 vol 979 c357W
Mr. Hardy

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food which areas of England and Wales Aujesky's disease has penetrated; and if he proposes to pursue policies designed to eradicate the disease and make this condition one which must be notified to the authorities.

Mr. Wiggin

The main focus of infection continues to be on the Suffolk-Norfolk border and to a lesser degree in the Avon and Humberside areas with occasional infection occurring in other areas of England. The Government's policy will be announced when consultations with interested organisations have been completed. We made the disease notifiable in August last year.
