§ Mr. RaisonIn the first 10 months of 1980, nearly 1,600 persons were refused leave to enter the United Kingdom at Gatwick airport. Figures are not available on those sent back to their country of origin, but it is estimated that about 70 per cent. of those persons had left this country within 48 hours of their arrival.
