§ Sir Ian GilmourThe Palestine Liberation Organisation has not declared openly its readiness to accept Israel's right to exist and continues to be involved with terrorism. This is unacceptable to us. However, Palestine Liberation Organisation statements and contacts with it reveal some evidence of readiness to accept a negotiated settlement based on compromise in the right circumstances. We continue to urge both the Palestinians and Israel to recognise each other's rights.
