§ Mr. W. Benyonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is in a position to make a statement on the award of mandatory grants for students attending the University College at Buckingham.
§ Mr. Mark CarlisleI am satisfied that the college has met the normal criteria for the designation of its courses for mandatory awards. I intend, therefore, to prescribe these courses under regulation 10(1)(e)(ii) of the Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 1980 in order that mandatory awards may be made to suitably qualified students from January 1981.
