§ Mr. Roy Hughesasked the Minister of Transport what effect the assumptions of cost rises for construction of 16.4 per cent. and 14 per cent. for maintenance, used for establishing the cash limit of £551 million for roads and so on, England, will have on the planning expenditure of £302 million at 1979 survey prices for English trunk road construction in 1980–81, given the information available to date on cost rises for the budget and on the 1 per cent. reduction in the cash limit due to overspending in 1979–80.
§ Mr. FowlerNo reliable estimate can yet be made of the extent of any such effect.
