§ Mr. S. C. Silkinasked the Lord Privy Seal, pursuant to the statement of the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in reply to the debate, Official Report, 4 August, c. 137, whether he will make a statement on Mr. Berkeley's contacts with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since his visit to South Africa in the light of Mr. Berkeley's letter to the Under-Secretary of State.
§ Mr. LuceI have told Mr. Berkeley that there is no trace of a letter from hint about his legal problems in South Africa since March, apart from his letter late last month about Chief Matanzima. We are now considering with Mr. Berkeley whether there is any further action on his behalf which we could properly and usefully take.
