asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he intends to introduce legislation to control ice-cream van chimes.

Mr. Fox

Use of ice-cream van chimes is already covered by section 62 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974. The response to consultations on a draft code of practice, for approval under section 71 of the Act is being considered.
