asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what assistance is being provided by his Department to housing associations in Coventry; and how many dwellings, current and projected, this assistance covers.

Since 1 April 1977 my Department has provided housing association grant towards the building and improvement of 1,187 dwellings in Coventry. There are plans to begin work on a further 245 buildings during the year to 31 March 1981. The total estimated grant amounts to some £10½ million.
