HC Deb 21 April 1980 vol 983 c40W
Mr. Homewood

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what public money has been paid, or will be paid, to companies, and particularly stockholders, in the steel industry to cushion them against the effects of the steel industry dispute; and if he will provide details of the funds.

Mr. Michael Marshall

None. However, such companies may benefit from the general provisions for stock relief announced by my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Budget Statement on 26 March 1980.
