§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list the amount of money donated by the Government to the Royal Veterinary College during the most recent year for which figures are available; and for what purpose this money was used.
§ Dr. BoysonUniversity grants are allocated to individual universities through the University Grants Committee, and the University of London is responsible for distributing its share between its constituent schools, including the Royal Veterinary College. The latest published figures relate to 1975–76 and are in volume 6 of the Department's "Statistics of Education". The provisional figure for Exchequer grants for 1978–79 in respect of the college is about £2.2 million.
Government funds are used by the Royal Veterinary College to fulfil the objectives laid upon it by its Royal Charter.
