§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his estimate of the cost of implementing the Flowers report recommendation to build a new dental school at Tooting to 587W replace the Royal Dental School and a new dental school at St. Mary's.
§ Dr. BoysonThe plan to rebuild the Royal Dental Hospital School alongside St. George's Hospital at Tooting has existed for some years and accommodation for pre-clinical students at Tooting is already being occupied. The regional health authority plans to start the clinical building in 1982–83 at a building cost of £8.2 million at July 1979 prices, though no final approval has yet been given to the project.
It is not possible to give a realistic estimate of what the cost would be of transferring the Eastman Dental Hospital and the Institute of Dental Surgery to a site alongside St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, and of creating a new pre-clinical school. There is at present no firm proposal for such a development.
