Mr. Leighton

asked the Attorney-General how many of his noble Friend's officials were sent to Brussels in 1978 to discuss EEC matters; what was the total man-days involved; and what was the cost to public funds of travel and subsistence, including sums reimbursed by the Commission.

The Attorney-General

Five officials were sent to Brussels from the Lord Chancellor's Department in the financial year 1978–79 to discuss EEC business; the total number of man-days was 85 and the cost to public funds £4,610.86, of which £2,017.48 has been repaid by the Commission.
