§ Mr. Whitneyasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the conference which was held in Bermuda earlier in the current year to examine constitutional issues arising from the recommendations of the report of the Royal Commission of inquiry into the 1977 disturbances.
§ Mr. RidleyThe conference began in February 1979 under the chairmanship of the Governor. Following an adjournment, it was concluded in July. Copies of the conference report have been placed in the Library of the House. An Order in Council to amend the constitution in accordance with the conference decisions was laid before Parliament on 29 October, and will come into operation on 1 December.
