§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will raise in the United Nations Commission on Human Rights the imprisonment of Wei Chung-Sheng by the Government of the People's Republic of China and seek to secure the release of this dissident.
§ Mr. BlakerThe Government will consider at the appropriate time what matters might be raised at the next meeting of the Commission. The hon. Member will no doubt be aware that one of the charges on which Wei Chung-Sheng was convicted concerned the passing of military secrets to foreigners.
