Member for Jarrow on 25 October, whether he will confirm that at least one of the 17 awards in the period 1970 to 1978 under prescribed diseases P.D.25 was for cataracts induced by microwave radiation.
§ Mr. PrenticeI regret that I cannot give the confirmation requested. Detailed information on each one of the 17 awards is not available. However, of the nine cases since 1974 for which individual records are available, none involves cataracts induced by either microwave or any other type of radiation.
