HC Deb 12 November 1979 vol 973 c440W
Mr. Joel Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what assumptions he made about increased recovery under the Road Traffic Act 1972 in 1980–81 of the cost of treating the victims of road accidents in the estimated expenditure in Cmnd. 7746.

Dr. Vaughan

On the basis set out in the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Bristol, North-West (Mr. Colvin) on 8 November, the extra income to the NHS in 1980–81 is estimated at £1.8 million—Great Britain.
