§ Dr. John CunninghamThe powers of the Energy Act 1976 have been used in relation to petroleum products—for the purpose of controlling the retail price of premium paraffin under section 1(4); for 205W the maintenance of fuel reserves under section 6; to introduce a fuel consumption testing scheme for new passenger cars under section 15; and the orders set out in part III of schedule 4 made under the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 restricting the use of fuel for heating premises have been continued in force.
