§ Mr. Lawrenceasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if, immediately, he will move to reappoint the Expenditure Committee so that the uncompleted inquiries of the Committee's sub-committees may be concluded.
§ Mr. St. John-StevasI suggest that any further decisions on the Select Committee structure of the House should await the forthcoming debate on the Procedure Committee's proposals. I hope, however, that, whatever the House decides about these proposals, arrangements can be made to ensure that, where feasible, Select Committee inquiries outstanding at the Dissolution of the previous Parliament are completed.
