asked the Prime Minister which of her Ministers is responsible to Parliament for updating the National Security Plan and which of her Ministers is responsible to Parliament for the activities of the Civil Contingencies Committee.

The Home Secretary has a general responsibility for security matters, but I have nothing to add to my reply of 24 May to the hon. Member for Newcastle upon Tyne, East (Mr. Thomas).
