HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 c640W
Mr. Cormack

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether, in view of the need to cut public expenditure and the fact that the inspector at the last major public inquiry did not recommend it as a priority project, he will now give instructions for the cancelling of plans to build the M54 between the M6 and Telford and arrange instead for the existing communications to Telford to be improved over a five-year period.

Mr. Fowler

No. I am writing to my hon. Friend.
