§ Mr. Moyleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to be able to announce the outcome of his consultations on the Jay report.
§ Dr. VaughanAs the right hon. Gentleman knows, numerous organisations have been consulted on the Jay report and were asked to submit their views by the end of October. As a result of a number of representations asking for the consultation period to be extended in order to allow time for reasoned and considered responses the deadline has now been extended to the end of December.
When all comments have been received, my colleagues and I will consider them and reach decisions on the recommendations in the report as quickly as possible.
