§ Mr. Leightonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will circulate in theOfficial Report a table showing what United Kingdom farmers would have received in 1978 for each of the principal products subject to the common agricultural policy at the prices agreed for 1979–80; what is his estimate on the same basis for 1979–80 on the current production forecasts; and what, in each case, the farmers would have received (a) at the prices on average in the crop years 1968–69 to 1971–72 and (b) at the average offer prices recorded by the Commission for imports from non-EEC and associated countries in 1978.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerI cannot at this stage forecast reliably what producers may receive in 1979–80. I regret that the other estimates requested cannot be made without disproportionate cost.
§ Mr. Leightonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will circulate in theOfficial Report a table 717W showing the gross trading profit received by farmers in each of the principal sections of the industry in each year since 1968–69; how much in each case was spent on plant, machinery and buildings as an offset against tax; and how much constituted rent and allowances against tax for mortgage and other payments.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerI regret that the information requested is not available.
