HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 cc512-3W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if, when the electoral law is next reviewed, he will make such changes as will allow members of the Ulster Defence Regiment to cast their vote at the polling station at which they are on duty in the same way as is open to the members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary on duty at such stations.

Mr. Humphrey Atkins

When electoral law is next being reviewed, the need to permit members of the Ulster Defence Regiment on duty to vote at any polling station within the constituency in which the yare registered—in the same way as constables—will be fully examined.
