HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 c692W
Mr. Loveridge

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will issue a circular to the chairmen of regional and area health authorities about the need to prepare simple maps for issue at hospitals when their 24-hour casualty services are closed and patients sent on to another hospital, in view of the inadequacy in stress conditions of verbal guidance of the route.

Dr. Vaughan

The Department is committed to reducing the number of circulars issued to health authorities and to leaving more matters for local decision. It would not be consistent with this policy to issue a circular on a subject of this kind.
