HC Deb 26 July 1979 vol 971 cc378-9W
Mr. Marlow

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will seek to abolish the Equal Opportunities Commission in view of its ineffectiveness as shown by the fall in full-time women's earnings as a proportion of men's from 1976 to 1978.

Mr. Raison

No. The equal pay legislation and its operation are primarily a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment.
