§ Mr. MacfarlaneMy right hon. and learned Friend recognises the important contribution which the youth service makes towards meeting the needs of young people and will continue to support the voluntary youth organisations. It is for local authorities to consider the appropriate level of their support for the youth service, in the light of local needs and circumstances, and other calls upon the resources which are available.
