HC Deb 24 July 1979 vol 971 cc196-7W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give a breakdown of the savings estimated in regional aids under the Industry Act 1972 in Scotland following the Government's review of regional policy.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

It is estimated that the changes in regional aids could lead to a saving of up to £45 million in Scotland in 1982–83. The major part of this is accounted for by savings in regional development grants.
