§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he has sanctioned Government indemnification covering loans of works of art, including those from private sources in the United Kingdom, to a forthcoming exhibition of impressionist paintings at the Royal Academy.
§ Mr. St. John-StevasGovernment indemnity has been given to the Royal Academy for this exhibition in respect of loans of works of art from all sources, including private collections. The exhibition will be on a scale never before attempted by the academy, and indemnity has been granted as a quite exceptional case without prejudice to any future decisions.
