HL Deb 17 July 1979 vol 401 cc1415-6WA
Lord KENNET

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many jobs can be expected to be lost in the United Kingdom, and in which industries, by repayment of the credit in kind "compensation agreements".

Lord TREFGARNE

Trade relating to "compensation agreements" is not separately recorded and there is no reliable means of measuring the flows. Even if the volume of such trade were known it would not be possible to calculate the effect on employment.

House adjourned at twenty-five minutes before ten o'clock.
