686WThe provision for 1979–80 for housing—United Kingdom—in Cmnd. 7439, as modified by the reductions announced in the Budget statement of my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, is £5,754 million—at 1979 survey prices. Estimated tax relief on mortgage interest in 1979–80 is £1,400 million. These figures represent £272 and £66 respectively per income tax payer.
