Mr. Norman Hogg

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish details of the prison population at each of Her Majesty's prisons in Scotland and the extent of overcrowding at the institutions.

The number of persons in custody in each of the prisons in Scotland on 26 June 1979, together with the normal design capacity, is shown in the table below:
