Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he proposes to hold discussions with Commissioner Davignon about the state of the steel industry and, in particular, the problem affecting the Sheffield community of the importation of special steels at cost prices from other member countries of the European Economic Community.

Mr. Michael Marshall

My right hon. Friend met Commissioner Davignon in London on 21 June and discussed steel problems including those of special steel as well as other subjects.
