HC Deb 02 July 1979 vol 969 cc394-5W
Mr. Hannam

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what facilities are available in the House for disabled persons to meet hon. Members; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. St. John-Stevas

The Committee Rooms on the Main Committee Corridor are available for disabled persons to meet hon. Members. I regret that it has not so far proved possible to provide facilities to enable the Interview Rooms in Westminster Hall Annexe to be used by disabled persons in wheelchairs. The authorities of the House are still trying to find a suitable site for a small interview room for disabled persons, but this has proved more difficult than was originally envisaged.

I shall, of course, keep my hon. Friend informed if any progress is made.
