Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Pord President of the Council what progress has been made regarding State aid to political parties for the coming European election; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Foot

The Government support the principle of making public funds available in the forthcoming European Assembly election. The prospects for making further progress on this matter are still under consideration.
