§ Mr. Leightonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much of the EEC budget in 1978 was spent in discussing subordinate legislation other than matters which fall to the EEC Commission to decide under delegated authority; and if, in making such an estimate, he will include in the calculation the number of persons employed in the Commission and in the staff of the European Assembly engaged on such matters, including a due proportion of the administrative costs including translation; and what was the cost to the United Kingdom as a result of its budget contribution.
