§ Mr. Freudasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that current financial aid, either through the EEC or the Government, provides an adequate incentive for farmers to modernise their farms.
§ Mr. StrangGrant aid towards the cost of modernising farms is available to farmers and growers under the farm capital grant scheme, the horticulture capital grant scheme and the farm and horticulture development scheme. There are no direct EEC aids to farm modernisation, although FEOGA makes a contribution to the grants paid under the farm and horticulture development scheme. More generally, the Government have made clear their determination to frame their policies so as to enable a progressive and efficient industry to make580W an ever-increasing contribution to the well-being of the nation.
