Mr. Dougla-Mannasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in considering applications for parole, the Parole Board has before it information as to the health and expectation of life of prisoners and whether he proposes any change to enable the board to have such information.
§ Mr. Merlyn Rees:Medical reports on prisoners are automatically included in the 13W case papers submitted to the Parole Board. The relevance of medical considerations to the grant of parole was discussed in paragraphs 11 and 12 of the criteria for selection for parole which were set out at length in appendix 4 of the report of the Parole Board 1975, a copy of which is in the Library of the House.
